Natalie Cox, harpist, and Dan Reiter, cellist, have been performing, composing and arranging music for solo harp and harp with cello, since meeting at the Oakland Symphony in 1979 where they held the positions of Principal Harp and Principal Cello, respectively.  Together they perform lively and soulful music from varying traditions.  Whether it's Chopin, Vivaldi, Mancini, or Ellington, this duo sparkles!

In this video of Rhett Barnwell's workshop on September 17, 2020, we discover that there is more than one approach as we look at the methods to the madness of arranging for the lever and pedal harp.  Through trial and tribulation, or taking a more left brain approach, we learn how to create beautiful music out of a row of strings.  You will discover how to make simple arrangements of your favorite tunes by finding your "style", selecting a mood, a meter,  a key and other mechanics from a musical "toolbox". We get down to the nitty gritty of classical forms, look at tricks of the trade and figure out how to make playable, creative, interesting and musical arrangements.
